The Northwest Vermont Regional Foundation (NVRF) was developed in support of the Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NRPC). The specific purposes and objectives of the NVRF are to support Northwest Regional Planning Commission in NRPC’s efforts to promote the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of Franklin and Grand Isle Counties in Vermont by implementing its regional plan in support of a superior quality of life, a vibrant economy, a clean environment, excellent public health, and sustainable growth and development.
Unlike NRPC which is a political subdivision of the state, the NVRF is a 501(c)(3) and received its public charity notice from the Internal Revenue Service on November 18, 2019. The NVRF is classified as a Type II supporting organization under IRC Section 509(a)(3).
